Our oldest daughter left for kindergarten this morning and she took a little piece of my heart with her. I couldn’t be happier and more excited for her, altho you might not have been able to tell from the tears welling up in my eyes as I left her at the gate and kissed her goodbye. I can’t shake the feeling that I forgot to send something she needed with her even tho I KNOW she has more than what she needs. We checked and double checked her backpack. Lunchbox-check, food in the lunchbox-check, school supplies-check, my heart-double check!
This is such a big chapter in my little girls life. Her FIRST day of KINDERGARTEN! Of all the first days in elementary school I think this is the best! A week ago she got to go to “kindergarten round-up”. All the kindergartners got to tour the school before the “big kids” got to school. She made 2 new friends (she makes friends so easily!) and is already just gushing over her teacher.
Kayla, I Pray today is everything you dreamed it would be and more. Just remember, you are in God’s hands.
Little wishes on great big stars.
Daughter, I make a wish for you.
Keep on growing and keep on smiling.
And I’ll keep loving all that you do.
Little dreamers wishing big things.
The world is your stage to display.
You can sing and you can dance.
Enjoy all that comes your way.
Little hopes in a great big world.
Nothing can stop your free spirit.
Make some noise, play a beat.
It’s beautiful music when I hear it.
Little kisses from my now big girl,
You’re growing up so fast it seems.
Pretty soon you’ll leave the nest
And fly after all of your dreams.
Little girl I love you,
And I love you even more.
Because I made a wish once,
And you’re what I wished for.
