Pregnancy can be such a beautiful and exciting time in life. Each pregnancy is so different but they all have one thing in common, it’s the beginning of a new life! Having maternity portraits taken is a beautiful and perfect way to preserve this moment in time and have beautiful images to look back on with your family! When you book your maternity portrait session with me I will help you pick the perfect location and the perfect outfit or if you are looking for a stunning gown to show of your bump, I have gown rentals! Each session comes with the edited digital images delivered in a personal online gallery that you can view and download from, as well as your print rights so that you can take your images where you want to print. If you are looking for top quality archival prints, I offer those as well! Here are a few tips to help you with your maternity session.
The best time of day for an outside session is in the evening about an hour before the sun sets. This is when the light in the sky is the softest. You want soft light for your pictures because it will even out skin tones, makes your skin appear smother and creates a beautiful glow!
When planning your hair and make-up, if you can, hire a professional. A professional hair and make-up artist can help you decide on the best hair style for your vision and make sure that you have on the right makeup for the camera (this is actually very important!) I have some amazing ladies that I can recommend if you don’t already know someone.
Choose a location that you love or complements your personality. I was born and raised here in Arizona so the desert is a perfect location for someone like me! We do have a couple of green areas that are beautiful here in the valley and we also have a few lakes to choose from that offer stunning backdrops!
When picking out an outfit for your pictures long dresses are so flattering to the female figure and help elongate your body. Dresses with long sleeves are perfect for the lady who is a little self-conscious about her arms and anything that flows from the waist down will add some movement to your images.
Here are some Arizona desert maternity pictures that I took a couple of months ago! Enjoy and I cant wait to capture the beautiful time in your life!
